Driveways can be resurfaced or “overlayed” with asphalt. The best candidate for a resurface is:
- A minimally cracked surface.
- The driveway is settled no more than 2″ low below the garage floor or has at least this amount of space from current pavement to garage floor, city sidewalk, and entrance, and is in adequate to fair [shape|condition}.
- The driveway is long and can have sections corrected independently; there is usually no cost-saving for smaller driveways since the minimum fee is still applicable.

ASPHALT PAVING PROCESS
STEP 1.
DEMO & BASE PREPARATION
Upon arrival the squad will remove the existing covering of the driveway, place the fresh stone base, grade, make it compacted and ready for examination with the local village or city as commanded.
Generally, the driveway will be ready for parking once the groundwork is prepared.
STEP 2.
INSPECTIONS
After the base is ready, we will arrange any necessary base inspections.
After passing the inspection, the schedule for the pavement installation will be set, which usually is between 1-3 days after the base is ready, depending on the weather.
Most villages do not necessitate someone to be present for the inspection, but do require the permit to be visibly posted on the front window or door as well as have approved plans available if necessary.
For some Villages, a base inspection is not necessary, and we will inform, paving can be done quickly if possible.
