Hardscape installation
Nothing compares to the classic elegance and timelessness of brick and stone. They can both enhance your home’s natural landscape and bring a peaceful ambiance to any backyard. With great options for patios, winding walkways, and retaining walls pavers are a great alternative to upgrade and compliment the pavements and landscapes around your home.
Also, pavers are not at risk of cracking and needing replacement. All of our pavers come with a lifetime transferable warranty from our suppliers UNILOCK ®, Techo Bloc ®, Belgard ® or Rochester ®. Pavers that may be defective, break, or disintegrate are covered under this warranty.
The normal maintenance for pavers includes relaying any settled units, power washing, and resanding joints. This means minimal interruption of your property and less repetitive than asphalt pavements or concrete needing yearly sealing.

Walls
Whether you are looking to retain, surround a garden, or use for seating, retaining walls can help provide support to patios, soils and gardens. If the soil slopes downward, it could easily create erosion in the area, also help keep gardens and landscape supported and in place avoiding steep drop offs next to driveways, culvert areas, patios, or backyards.
Walkways
Changing the old settled concrete for pavers will create continuity for the beautiful landscape of your home and cozy places inside.
Borders
Gain space and enhance your Driveway, Walkway, or Patio with a brick pavers border (pavers ribbon). The most common is 1ft – 2ft. width around your current driveway, walkway, or patio. You can extend tastefully, and cost effectively with pavers despite your current surface (i.e.: concrete or asphalt).

BRICK PAVING PROCESS
STEP 1.
Demo & Base Preparation
Upon arrival the crew will remove the existing surface of the driveway or patio, install the new stone base, grade, leave it compacted and ready for inspection with the local village or city as required.
In most cases, after the base is prepared, the driveway will be accessible for parking.
STEP 2.
INSPECTIONS
After base preparation, we will schedule any required base inspections.
Once inspection is passed, we will schedule the project pavement installation date which normally is between 1-3 days after the base has been ready, weather permitting.
Most villages do not require for anyone to be present during inspection, but do require the permit to be visibly posted on a front window or door as well as approved plans to be accessible if needed.
Some Villages do not require a base inspection, we will advise if one is not needed. If such is the case we will schedule paving sooner availability.
STEP 3.
PAVERS Installation
The brick and stone installation team will complete the hardscape work by fitting the different types of pavers leaving your space ready for outdoor enjoyment.
During construction, please contact your local police department for street parking permission.
PAVER MAINTENANCE
WHILE MOST SURFACES NEED REPLACED, SUCH AS CONCRETE AND ASPHALT, BRICK PAVERS AND NATURAL STONE CAN BE RE-LAID IN MOST INSTANCES.
RELAYING:
Settled or raised pavers by correcting base issues, and reinstalling evenly for proper water drainage and recompacting.
Most often pavers can be removed and re-laid, instead of being completely replaced.
RESANDING / REMORTARING:
Thoroughly brushing in between pavers jointing sand or mortar in stone to stabilize and help control regrowth of weeds or moss.
- When some pavers need replaced, we blend the new and old pavers in the best way possible to minimize the difference.
- PVC edging usually has to be replaced to secures the edges of the pavers or stone.
- Stone can only be re-used if not set in mortar. We usually recommend Polymeric sand instead of concrete to fill joints for this reason.
POWER WASHING:
Thoroughly power washing pavers that may be heavily soiled, covered in stains from chemicals or fuels, and overgrowth of moss. This process can help re-expose the color of your pavers and stone leaving a beautiful clean and polished look.
WHEN IT IS TIME FOR MAINTENANCE?
IF YOU NOTICE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ISSUES:
Settling and water ponding in various areas.
Grass growing in joints.
Crumbling or deterioration and discoloration of old pavers.
PVC edging missing or lifted (pavers shifting or settling on edges indicate this issue).
PERMEABLE PAVERS
Permeable Pavers are a great way to get around seemingly unsolvable water issues or village impermeable surface limitations (concrete or asphalt covered areas are maxed out per code). In short, this system is an eco-friendly option that is the closest you can get to an undisturbed natural surface, such as grass, when installed properly. The profile of a permeable pavers base will vary from village to village, however, UNILOCK ® (our supplier) recommends the following:
10” Stone base:
8” CA-7
2” CA-16 bed
Permeable Pavers from Unilock:
Eco-Priora
Eco-Optiloc
Eco-Line
Eco-Promenade
Thornbury
Town Hall
Tribeca Cobble
Permeable pavers essentially have large gaps in the joints so that water can permeate through the surface and into the underlying CA-7 stone base that consists of no “fines” or sand.
This will allow the water to dissipate into the soil, or a perforated pipe that leads to a drain.
The three possible options for controlling the water flow are as follows:
